The latest Rasmussen poll shows that Americans feel so strongly about the job that President Barack Obama has done in his first 100 days that many of them would join a call for Mr. Obama have up to 100 more days in office.
The public cry to let the president serve for about three more months comes as a result of his record of campaign promises kept, including…
– Guantanamo Bay detention center shut down,
– American troops out of Iraq,
– Osama bin Laden virtually captured,
– Iran and North Korea disarming in the face of a U.S. charm offensive,
– the end of U.S. spying on Americans,
– ocean levels dropping and polar bears reproducing like rabbits,
– the greatest economic recovery since World War II, and
– a new civility in government that has Democrats reaching out to Republicans and forging bipartisan solutions for all of the people.
“People are impressed by Obama’s actions in the first 100 days,” said an unnamed Rasmussen spokesman. “If you add up the folks who want him to keep it up for another 25, 50 or 100 days, it’s nearly a majority.”

He gets an A. Easily. Amazing first 100 days. Not free of mistakes, but that was never going to happen. With the catastrophe he inherits, what Obama did is marvelous.

While Obama has had a couple of missteps and bumps, several of them coming on behalf of those around him, he's been a remarkably strong leader. At the very least, his calm and cool approach to issues and people is refreshing and a stabilizing force. He's inspiring to those who will give him a chance. Yes, there are those who are bitter about losing the last election and who will toss up all of the small things to say that he's not perfect, which he isn't because he's a man, but for those with open eyes, open hearts, and open minds, we are in the midst of an historical presidency and an historical president. Looking forward to the next 100 days, but more importantly, looking forward to the vindication that will come to President Obama when his policies have a chance to take root and produce results. Many of the the crises that he's working on require time to be fixed since it took so long to get us into such a mess. Hopefully those that were so patient watching things go down the drain and then clogging up the drain will be a little patient while the plumber gets things flowing again. And no, I'm not talking about Joe the Fake Plumber.
I really think 100 days is like the blink of an eye. Not enough time for the President to get all his plans moving. So far I have to say A for him.

I know that the presidency is not a 100 day dash but a long distance marathon. It isn't how you start the race that matters as much as how you finish. I think this man is up to the task and gets an A so far.

Not entirely happy how he's dealt with the bankers and am wishing he'd take a stronger stance against previous senior administration officials authorization of torture which is not something that we can afford to sweep under the rug.
I am glad that he's moving ahead on all fronts and I'm amazed at how many campaign promises he's kept already. With respect to women's human rights issues I give him an A+ and I love his foreign policy approach so far with the exception of Afghanistan

Obama's almost 70 percent approval rating and Specter's bombshell party switch are clearly referendums on the success and popularity of the president's agenda.

Finally we have someone in power that is truly concerned about the welfare of the working class and the common people. Hopefully the Republican Party will put country before party instead of trying to put a wrench in the works at every turn trying to unravel Obama's plans.

So far, considering all that was forced on his plate the minute he stepped into the Oval Office, I am greatly pleased with President Obama. I give him an A+ just for the effort he has expended in trying to correct the evils of the Bush administration.
Realistically speaking, I don't see how he could accomplish much of anything in the first 100 days, except to get the ball rolling. He has certainly done that.

I think by any fair standard he gets a resounding A considering all he's done. There are some areas where I'm at odds with him - the war in Afghanistan, his lack of support for single-payer healthcare, his flip-floppiness on torture prosecution.
But most of what he's done has been an enormous improvement over Bush.
vI certainly give President Obama an "A" for accessibility. He's out in front of the people, the cameras, the world. This President is not hiding from the very serious tasks that await our county.
He also deserves an A++++ for the lovely First Family of his.

For the first time in a generation Americans have elected a President who understands that the job requires more than filling the position. He is criticized in some quarters for doing too much as he works on the economy, the environment, education, and the health care system; as he rebuilds the infrastructure and ends one war while bringing rationality to another; as we restore faith in our democracy - at home and abroad - all while dealing with a congressional majority unused to that status and a Republican minority that cannot understand that in democracies, one party will never rule permanently.
Obama knows that work demands full effort. Before his election, we had become accustomed to presidential posturing. We had become accustomed to a federal government completely separated from our daily lives in form and substance. In little more than three months, Obama has reminded us that we are all equal. The presidency is, certainly, a more visible job than our own but the office requires - and we deserve - a President who, like us, puts in more than eight hours on some days, does not abuse vacation days, approaches his tasks with thoughtful attention to detail, and who brings an enthusiasm to the tasks at hand. Barack Obama was ready to go to work. He is setting a standard for us and for those who will follow him.

I give the President an extra A for his calm approach to the matter in yesterday's press conference.
I give President Obama an "A". He has done more in 100 days then most Presidents have done in one term. He has been given a tremendous plate and has balanced all areas with ease. I think 100 days is tough to judge given that these problems took over 8 years to develop, you can't expect them all to go away in 100 days.

It cannot be overstated what Bush left the country and Obama with, the worst economy in 75 years and everything broken with 2 wars to top it all off. Putting this into context of the first 100 days since taking the oath, I give Obama high marks for his mending of international relations, talking with our enemies (always a good thing, even in the worst of times) and working on all major issues to turn the problems around. I am amazed at the projections that the deficit will be cut in half in just 4 years. Hey Republicans, this is called being fiscally responsible and conservative! Did you hear or see any of this from Bush over 8 years!
it is a pleasure to hear our President actually able to speak the English language, hold meetings without a throng of protesters in and outside where the President speaks, and constantly addresses the public with updates and plans for the future. We actually know what is going on with our government on a regular basis.

I've believed from the beginning that I'm willing to live with a President who makes mistakes, but who tells us when he does so, and deals appropriately with those under his watch who makes mistakes as well.
As far as Secretary Geithner is concerned, if the President is willing to give him a chance, then so am I. The financial crisis will be years, not days, in sorting itself out.
I guess one of the benefits of middle age, being only nine months older than the President, is that unlike the "me" generation or the "now" generation, I've finally learned how to do things organically and wait for things to run its course in a natural way.
We are really just armchair quarterbacks when all is said and done. I know the President's got my best interests at heart, and all he can do his try his best to sort out the mess other administrations have gotten us into. I love and admire my President and wish him well for the next thousand days.

Would I have liked if he had addressed or actually solved a few more problems? Sure. But that would have been an unrealistic expectation. Like doc jokes, let's give him 100 more days - he'll solve even more problems, and will in the following 100, on and on.
Come to think about it... in 100 days Obama has done more work than Bush did for all eight years. That guy was AWOL most of the time!
At the town hall meeting the President said that his grade would be based on how well Americans do individually.
I think that pretty much sums up this man's attitude. And for that he gets an A+.

Every few generations, a visionary comes along who defies conventional wisdom, sees opportunity where others see despair, and, against all odds, dares to do the improbable. Of course, only time will tell, and the outcome will depend not just on the leader, but how well we pull together as a nation, and on how hard we try.
But there is no doubt, President Obama is that leader. He is that visionary.
All can see that, except those who are hopelessly glued to an ideology or who are terminally cynical.

Be patient. It's only his first 100 days of a 4-year term. He was handed a house ablaze and he's frantically working to tame the raging inferno. In time, he will get around to addressing the other ills that need to be tended to. America has waited this long for a caring and compassionate President, surely we can give him the benefit of the doubt to do the right thing for the many constituencies that he has pledged to serve.
This is a very transitional period. They get A's for hard work, outstanding inspirational leadership, and, in 100 days, doing more for America's international standing and credibility than any other U.S. President has accomplished in American history, or in such a short period.
Contrast with Bush's first 100 days. Making the Presidency look like it was all about the golf course or going fishing. I found that so offensive, and then, 9/11 happened (and he had that blank look on his face), and then New Orleans (and he was playing a guitar in San Diego while we were watching Americans dying in front of national news reporters).
I am not surprised at what's going on militarily, nor do I think others should be. Obama is doing pretty much what he said he would do, during his campaign.
But I am very concerned about health care. I'd like to see big, major change there. Passage of H.R. 676 or the comparable Senate bill that Bernie Sanders is involved with, would be a tremendous step forward for America. A National Health Insurance Act passed and signed. Soon.
I think we, as Americans, need to focus on our priorities in light of how much time a President has to accomplish certain changes. What affects our lives the most.
Personally, I would give Obama an A just for not being Bush.

I like to think that everyone starts with an A+, and it's up to the individual to retain that status.
The last guy had fallen to a C by the end of his predictable yet disappointing inauguration speech, climbed to a C+ briefly right after 9/ 1 1, but plunged to a D- by the end of the year, and it was downhill to below F from there.
Obama hasn't been perfect by any means, but as an optimist I don't feel that a single one of my hopes has been completely dashed yet.
After a mere 100 days, the only real grade you can give a president is incomplete, but using my method, he has yet to lose his A+ status.

The first one hundred days in a presidency are roughly comparable to the first one hundred yards in a mile race. Our president may not have won anything yet, but he is off to a reassuring start.
Lest we forget the other half of the team, only the most rigid of traditionalists or activists could assess Michelle Obama with anything less than an "A" grade as the new First Lady.

The reporters seemed stunned by the President's decision in light of the fawning media coverage he received during his first 100 days, but the hyperbolic nature of that reportage, ironically, may have been the prime motivator behind Mr. Obama's shocking move.

Mr. Obama may have a point, as current polls show that the only Americans with higher approval ratings are members of his immediate family.
According to the latest University of Minnesota/Opinion Research Institute survey, Mr. Obama's 67% approval rating is topped by First Lady Michelle Obama at 84%, with daughters Sasha and Malia and dog Bo tied at 98%.
Even the President's little-known half-brother George Obama, who resides in Nairobi, Kenya, garnered a 73% thumbs-up in the poll.
As the press corps reeled from the news of Mr. Obama's resignation, one White House source suggested that the First Lady may have been behind the decision: "Around Day 95 or so, Michelle was running out of wardrobe changes."
At the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Roberts said that he stood ready to swear in the nation's new chief executive, whom he called "President Biden R. Joseph."
Mr. Biden is scheduled to deliver his Inaugural address on Friday at noon and wrap it up sometime late Sunday.

There's a classic astronaut quality to President Obama in that, so far, he's been able to confront enormous strain with a cool but competent grasp of the mission -- there appears to be a natural respect for his duty as well as for the 300 million people he's serving.
President Obama's first 100 days haven't been flawless, but considering the Apollo 13 nature of the situation he inherited, his errors could've been far more serious.
