Palin should have spent $5.95 on a used World Atlas.

Since Sarah Palin knew that she had to return the clothing when the campaign was over, and since she had to know that the last day of the campaign was on November 4, shouldn't she have asked her aides to pack up everything that was purchased for her and leave it in Phoenix for the RNC to pick up to be donated? That wouldn't have been difficult. Then there would be no need for aides to be madly sorting all the things she packed to take back to Alaska to "find" those that weren't hers.

Or might it just be that she planned all along to bring the goodies home and see what she would be able to keep??

My thought was that she would take the ones she really wanted to a charity in Alaska, make the donation, then buy them back at the deeply discounted prices (or have someone do it for her). That way she would have obeyed the letter of the law. Not ethical, of course, but certainly legal!!

Anonymous said...

An ethical alaskan republican? Surely you jest.

Anonymous said...

I'm serious.
And don't call me Shirley.

Anonymous said...

... and now she gets to go back in that state - and stay there - while Obama runs the country!!!

Anonymous said...

Still beating up Palin, doc? Can't say I blame you.

Anonymous said...

If Sarah Palin had purchased the items with her own money, then it would not have been an issue.

However, her extravagantly expensive clothes were purchased with campaign money - which include private donations and public campaign financing.

To use campaign funds for personal use, i.e. the extravagant expensive clothes is a violation of the law.

That is why so many people are angry about this abuse and deception.

The $150,000 was spent over a short period of time, which makes it even more egregious.

In some parts of the country, $150,000 can buy a house......or even two or three houses.

Therefore, this is not a small issue that should be overlooked or forgotten.

Dr B hasn't trashed Palin. Palin trashed the American people.

What goes around, comes around.

Anonymous said...

Almost $900 for a turtleneck?
Land's End has 'em for about $25.

Anonymous said...

Looking at this list, it certainly speaks to the hypocrisy of the repugnicans. While they were out there trying to pretend to connect to "hockey moms" and working class "Joe Sixpack" and "Joe the Plumber" - the value of their clothes represent someone's mortgage! They should ashamed and they deserved the thumping they got on Nov. 4th!!!

These two piggies in the trough can't get enough of the good stuff when someone handed over the credit card.

So it is true: "you can put lipstick on a pig; it's still a pig". Here is one pig that sure loves her lipsticks.

Anonymous said...

Yep, and aptly named: "Wasilla Hillbillys"

Anonymous said...

Egads! That 22 grand watch could have been replaced by a Chinese made egg-timer for 99 cents. All she needed was to set it for a 15 minute countdown.

Anonymous said...

I think this is a more telling commentary on the outrageousness and superficiality of this society that people like Palin would actually, for instance, buy a bra for $580.

Meanwhile our streets are filled with homeless starving people. I would hope at least the people who can afford these things are charitable with their pocketbooks.

But still. Please. Spend $50-80 on a bra and do something wiser with the change.

Anonymous said...

$50-80?

Anonymous said...

She puts all that on and then goes Moose hunting?

Anonymous said...

It cost so much yet she still looked so cheap.

Anonymous said...

"Pig, meet Chanel lipstick."

"FINALLY nice to meet you Chanel" (as she tosses Walgreens lipstick in garbage).

Anonymous said...

$580 for a bra? LOL! I'm going to have to look at that bra the next time I'm at Neiman's.

$2000 for a croc wallet? And this was important because? Who was going to see it? $20,000 for a handbag!!! I want to run for VP, gosh darn it.

Anonymous said...

And they wouldn't pony up a few hundred dollars for Rosetta Stone the English version.

Anonymous said...

Eventually the RNC will figure out what the hell happened. Some of the receipts are being held by aides who spent money with their own cards so it is unclear if they will release that info.

Anonymous said...

And the list doesn't include the Gucci bag Piper carried around?

Anonymous said...

A Louis Vuitton handbag, not Gucci. $895.

Anonymous said...

AND, WHAT really TICKS ME OFF is that America is going through one of its worst FINANCIAL CRISIS, and Palin and her staff went out and spent DONOR's money this way.

Anonymous said...

She could have gotten that crocodile wallet for $1850 if she'd simply shopped around. I'm appalled.

Anonymous said...

Louis Vuitton Alzer 80 suitcase $6,550
Valextra croc handbag $20,000

There's no reasoning or excuse for that. Those things aren't photographed for public PR.. She just wanted them.

Anonymous said...

That's exactly right. No RNC staffer bought her those.

Anonymous said...

$250 for underpants! And the Republicans called Obama elite. He wears good fruit of the loom $11.00 for 3 pairs. I don't even want to get started on what a $500 bra is like.

Anonymous said...

It's hilarious that she claims that she has to "go through" her wardrobe to find out which items are hers and weren't purchased by the campaign. Sarah Palin's excuses are, as usual, complete lies.

And how are silk boxer shorts justified as an expense? Unless Todd Palin goes around dropping his pants for the media, I don't see how they would be useful in projecting an "image".

Anonymous said...

Don't forget the 7.5% sales tax, Doc.

Anonymous said...

And it's a lot more than that. The campaign has yet to disclose anything yet about what items were purchased for her kids. Palin herself said that "kids losing underwear" was one reason she hadn't given the clothes back yet. It's probably at least 1/4 million in total.

Anonymous said...

What? she do not want to return the clothes back because her kids will lose the underwear? Don't she and Todd make a combined income of $1,000,000 a year? Can't she use her own governor income money to buy cheap underwear at businesses like Walmart for her children?

Give the clothes back, then go shop at some businesses like KMart for your kids' clothes.

Anonymous said...

I don't see any panties in there. Does that mean she goes commando?

Anonymous said...

Timex is good enough for most of the country - what did she need a Patek Philippe watch at $22,000 for - even on television, we couldn't tell what kind it was?????

Her Ralph Lauren Collection wool turtleneck $855 cost more than my monthly Social Security check -

And what makes me maddest about the whole wardrobe thing is - she didn't have the knowledge or elegance or chic to carry it off -

She was still a Wasilla Hillbilly - dressed up like a Barbie doll - no substance at all -

Let us pray that Sen Stevens is defeated in Alaska and that Beglich wins.

Anonymous said...

This is a shopping list for every Hockey Mom when they go to WalMart!

Anonymous said...

RNC could have used this money as a down payment for her Brain Transplant!

Anonymous said...

What I think they should do is find out if "she" did go into any of those stores or did she use others credit cards and order them online?
Saying this because someone on the campaign mentioned that there were still packages arriving right up to election day.

And if she was not using others credit cards, then why did they say the ones who spent for Palin were reimbursed???

What a grifter !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Leaders are supposed to question things. A real conservative would have questioned the price of the clothes, been appalled, and asked for cheaper ones. And not taken designer luggage, etc.

Every time she says 'she didn't know' it proves why she is not leadership material. Leaders know. And they don't make excuses.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Sarah Palin should stomp the floor and cry, "Media, Media, Media!", then change her name to Jan Brady.

Anonymous said...

I guess I can understand the fancy clothes for appearance purposes (still, unless she wore the labels and pricetags on the outside, who could tell?), but not the watch, the handbags, or the luggage. Those seem excessive and don't really serve any purpose. The only reason that someone has a $7,000 weekender bag or a $20,000 handbag or a $22,000 watch are for bragging purposes. "Look at me, I am rich...."

Anonymous said...

"And you made me rich and paid for it, suckers."

Anonymous said...

This is not the full list. They did not include what was bought for the children. The whole family received clothes and accessories.

She lied and said she knew nothing about the clothes. Sarah and the whole family did the shopping. Just looking at that list, it is clear to me, she never intended to give those clothes back.

Anonymous said...

$580 for a bra. Are you serious? She doesn't need that much lift for those little girls.

Anonymous said...

For that kind of money, I'll volunteer to follow her around and personally hold them up. Using nothing more than my hands.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't help but notice that most of those designers were foreign. I mean, honestly, Governor, if you're going to spend $150,000+ of the GOP's hard raised cash, you could have at least spent it at American designers. Who's Palin' around now?

Anonymous said...

Exactly...

Anonymous said...

There was no reason in the world to put that woman in those expensive dud's.. where is her hockey outfit ? she spent 1,295 on a purse ---- whoever saw her carrying one . but then again it could have had moose wipes in it .

Anonymous said...

See, it IS true . . . you CAN'T make a silk purse . . . out of a sow's ear . . . no matter how much lipstick you use in the equation!

Shallow, Sarah, very shallow . . . .

Anonymous said...

Carine Gilson bra $580
Carine Gilson briefs $275--excuse me... she needed these items for the campaign..who the hell could see them.and what hockey mom needs a bra that expensive.

Anonymous said...

But please folks, let's not forget that she is just like you and me.

Or at least that's the line of bullshit they'll use in 2012.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, but I'm having a real hard time trying to remember when I last spent over $150,000 on my clothes!

Anonymous said...

Where are Piper's $400 purse and Gucci shoes?

Anonymous said...

Probably somewhere in Alaska :-)

Anonymous said...

This is the sort of excess that led to the French aristocracy losing their heads.

Anonymous said...

$12 for condoms for Bristol? That would have been smart, eh?

Anonymous said...

...too late now...

Anonymous said...

no glove, no love

Anonymous said...

If not some condoms at least get her an IUD, put her on the pill, explain how the rhythm method sometimes works, or just make her stay home and behave herself.

Girls like that are better off with both an IUD and condoms since they tend to be forgetful about pill taking and are likely to pick up the clap or herpies.

Sarah is far to busy with her own indulgences to worry about the kid playing house at 16 with some unemployed 18 year old High School boyfriend..

Anonymous said...

I think we all need to cut Sarah Palin some slack.

After all, she is from Alaska which has among the highest per capita incidence of alcoholism, rape and incest, i.e., she is from one of those "un-American" parts of our nation.

In addition, she has no doubt been affected by the company she keeps, including a corrupt, convicted Senator, a witch doctor, and secessionists.

In other words, Palin has been palling around with people who do not see America as you and I do. So like I said, let's cut her some slack. She just doesn't know any better.

Anonymous said...

I didn't see all those new boots she was wearin' on that list. I'm thinkin' that a few things were left off.. and which Patek Phillipe only costs $22,000?

Anonymous said...

This deluded and delusional woman still doesn't understand what happened to her; still has no self-awareness; and has never been forced to accept her obvious limitations.

She cannot keep even the most trivial story straight; she repeats untruths with a ferocity and calm that is reserved only to the clinically unhinged; she has the educational level of a high school drop-out; and regards ignorance as some kind of achievement. It is excruciating to watch her - but more excruciating to watch those who feel obliged to defend her.

Her candidacy, in short, was indefensible. It remains indefensible.

Anonymous said...

OK, so a US Senator makes $169,300 a year.

And the VP makes $221,000.

The RNC didn't see a problem with blowing 150K on DRESSING for the JOB INTERVIEW?

Anonymous said...

Oh, guys... don't be too harsh on her, she is donating it to the Alaskan Corrupt Foundation.

Anonymous said...

Stevens has furniture he doesn't own, Palin has clothes she doesn't own...is this an Alaskan thing or what?

Anonymous said...

All the Palins' clothes should go to the Vietnamese Prison Guard Foundation.

They love Luis Vuitton

Anonymous said...

this whole thing reminds me of an old old joke:
There was an exceptionally gorgeous young woman all alone at a big party. A well dressed ,very rich older man approached her and said "you are so lovely--I wonder, would you sleep with me for a million dollars?" she said, "Why yes, I believe I would." So the old dude says, "Well then would you sleep with me for ten dollars?" to which the young woman replies, "Please what kind of a girl do you think I am?" the old guy says. "well my dear we've already established that, now we are just haggling over price."

LOL

Here's another one: This is true according to a new report I read online - thousands of pregnant mothers are planning to name their baby Barack. After hearing this, Sarah Palin told Bristol, 'Don't even think about it.'

Anonymous said...

Should Sarah Palin sign a contract to write a book for $7 million, she'll be earning $6,600,000 more than President Barack Obama.

A working title might be "Time Management Tips from a Woman Writing a Book, Serving as Governor of Alaska and Mothering Four Children (One a Pregnant Teenager, Another Fighting in Iraq and a Third with Special Needs) Who Never Has a Bad Hair Day".

What will the publisher have to pay the editor responsible for transcribing "Palinese" into English?
